Milan, 11 December 2023 – The International Documentary Festival Visioni dal Mondo, the annual appointment with the cinema of reality, announces the dates for the 2024 edition, from 12 to 15 September in Milan, and prepares to celebrate an important achievement: the event’s tenth anniversary.
Founded and directed by Francesco Bizzarri, and under the artistic direction of Maurizio Nichetti, since its debut with the 2015 edition, the International Documentary Festival Visioni dal Mondo has consistently provided an important platform for documentary filmmakers from all over the world to meet, investigate and tell compelling stories of extreme topicality, ranging from social issues to environmental and cultural issues.
The 10th Festival represents an extraordinary milestone for the event, marking a decade of commitment to supporting the industry and promoting the documentary genre as a form of expression capable of narrating the contemporary world in all its complexities.
With the aim of telling the story of the world we live in with a free and open gaze, in recent years Visioni dal Mondo has been the ideal stage for telling the story of the cinema of reality through around 300 premieres of Italian and international documentary films, more than 500 directors present, special events, masterclasses and panels related to the audiovisual sector.
Confirming its support for the industry, Visioni dal Mondo was among the first festivals to introduce a business section, ‘Visioni Incontra’, curated by Cinzia Masòtina. The industry section facilitated the creation of fruitful connections with the presentation to an audience of professionals of over 130 work-in-progress projects, which in recent years have obtained several co-production, acquisition or distribution agreements.

The 2024 edition will feature an even richer programme, with screenings of award-winning documentary films, meetings with internationally renowned filmmakers, interactive workshops and many other events that will pay tribute to a decade of commitment and passion.
