Italian contest – Short film
Brief Synopsis:
Following the footsteps of the travelers who in all ages have told in their diaries the beauties and peculiarities of the lands of Puglia, the director Alessandro Piva goes to the rediscovery of some historical maritime villages of Puglia. The result is a profoundly human portrait of these places, a documentary of observation and creation made up of authentic encounters and breathtaking landscapes: an invitation for the viewer to set out on a journey, not with the eyes of a tourist but of a traveler, to be surprised by the splendid mixture of tradition and impetus towards the future of a coast that, to those who want to observe and listen, offers something more than the crowded beaches of August.

Director’s note:
It is in the faces of our men and women that the complex identity of Puglia is defined. Having lived so long outside the region has left me with the gift of still being fascinated by discovery, but at the same time, I feel a strong connection with the true soul of this land, made up of the people you meet in the streets, on the docks, in the markets. And it is thanks to this that I was able to immortalize the most authentic spirit of each town on my coastal itinerary, in the suspended and magical atmosphere of a mild Apulian autumn.
