The Mediometraggi and Cortometraggi BNL Gruppo BNP Paribas Jury Students Prize, will be awarded by students of the most known cinema and documentary’s university departments and schools of Milan.
Camilla Baresani
Camilla Baresani is a journalist, author and writer. Born in Brescia, she currently lives between Rome and Milan. She has written ten books, among novels, short stories and essays: the latest one is the novel “Gelosia” (2019, Nave di Teseo).
She wrote and presented with Sandrone Dazieri the Radio1 daily programme “Mangiafuoco”. She also created for Rai3 the programme format “Romanzo Italiano”, hosted by Annalena Benini. She is a writing teacher at the Molly Bloom School.
Baresani is the president of the Centro Teatrale Bresciano.
Cristiano Barbarossa
An author, screenwriter, novelist and director dedicated to journalism, Cristiano Barbarossa won a Journalistic Special Prize “Ilaria Alpi”, a Flaiano Special Prize, Roma Fiction Fest and an Audience Award at “Castellinaria” Festival of Young Cinema. His documentary features – among which “A Slum Symphony”, “Irak: un nouveau regard” – have been broadcasted in Italy and in many other countries. He also directed and wrote the docudrama “L’infiltrato: Operazione Clinica degli Orrori”, shown in prime time by Rai.
For the same broadcaster he made “Bananas”, on fruit multinationals, and “Indagine Villa Borea”. He also worked for more than ten years as an author and director for the science television programme “Superquark”. He ideated, wrote and directed with Fulvio Benelli “Tutta la verità”, a series of documentaries for Discovery Channel on the most relevant Italian legal cases. Together they published the novel on ‘ndrangheta ramifications “Crimine Infinito”, for Fandango Libri.
Didi Gnocchi
Journalist, author and director, she started as a journalist for “La Provincia Pavese” and Mediaset TV news. In 1999, she founded 3D Produzioni, of which she is the sole administrator, specialising in the production of documentaries on history, art and culture. In the last few years, the company has produced films on great art for the theatre: “Hitler versus Picasso and the Others” (Nastro d’Argento), “Van Gogh – Of Wheat Fields and Clouded Skies”, “Klimt & Schiele: Eros and Psyche”, “The Prado”, “Hermitage” (Nastro d’Argento), “Gauguin in Tahiti”, #Anne Frank Parallel Stories”, “Napoleon, the Art of Power”.
As a director, Gnocchi made “Citizen Rosi”, Pasinetti Award at the 2019 Biennale Cinema, with Carolina Rosi. In 2020, she wrote the screenplay for “Il nostro Eduardo” and co-directed it with Michele Mally.
She also launched with 3D Produzioni three cultural web TVs: Ultrafragola, Piccolo Teatro TV (Prix Italia Award 2013) and Menomi (the memory of Milan). In 2013, she received the Premiolino for these endeavours of innovative language, although “faithful to the best traditional journalism values”.
Alessandra Venezia
Alessandra Venezia is a film and theatre critic. She attended mime courses by Quelli di Grock in Milan, and worked with Velia and Tinin Mantegazza and their puppets theatre. She contributed to the TV shootings of Dario Fo and Franca Rame’s shows for RAI (with director Guido Tosi). In 1982, she moved to Los Angeles, teaching for some years at UCLA. She worked with Il Messaggero and L’Unità, and regularly wrote for Panorama (1987-2006) and Vogue (until 2007). In 1993, she started woking for TELE+, creating TV interviews and a series of specials; she has been the official Sky TV Italia collaborator for cinema and TV since 2003.
She became a member of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, the organisation awarding the Golden Globes, in 1987.
Carlo Siliotto
Carlo Siliotto is a Golden Globe nominated Film composer.
Between 1980 and 1984 Carlo was also featured as a violinist, composer and arranger on several albums by some of Italy’s most acclaimed songwriters, such as Domenico Modugno, Antonello Venditti and Francesco De Gregori.
Since 1984 he has worked alongside many established directors , such as Patricia Riggen, Eugenio Derbez, Jonathan Hensleigh, Ricky Tognazzi, Maurizio Nichetti and others.
In 2007, Carlo received a Golden Globe nomination for his work on Nomad: The Warrior (Bodrov-Passer), and in 2011 he was nominated by the Italian critics for the “Nastro d’Argento” for the music of Il Padre e lo Straniero (Tognazzi).
Carlo currently lives and works in Los Angeles, California. He is a member of the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences.
Viktor Nordenskiöld
Viktor Nordenskiöld is an award winning Swedish director, producer and international news journalist. He has made many films for TV and his short Out of This World (2014) premiered at Berlinale. His first released feature The Feminister (2019) premiered at CPH Dox and at Visioni dal Mondo-Milan and has been subsequently translated into ten languages. He has a Master of Arts (MA) from Stockholm University of the Dramatic Arts and a Bachelor (BJ) in Journalism from The Netherlands and Denmark.
Before setting off on his own focusing on documentaries, he worked as a foreign news reporter at Swedish Television. He also works as a tutor for B2B Documentary Network and as a commissioner for The Swedish Arts Grants Committee.
