Milan, xx March 2024– The International Documentary Festival Visioni dal Mondo, the annual appointment with real cinema founded and directed by Francesco Bizzarri and with the artistic direction of Maurizio Nichetti, returns to Milan from September 12th to 15th, 2024.
“TIME IS UP” is the theme of the tenth edition, an extraordinary milestone for the International Documentary Festival Visioni dal Mondo, marking a decade of commitment to supporting the sector and promoting the documentary genre as a form of expression capable of narrating, sometimes anticipating the times, the contemporary world in all its complexities.
“TIME IS UP” wants to incite viewers to action, and courage, with the hope of a better future. In this critical moment, through its documentaries, the Festival invites everyone to reflect and join in the commitment to act firmly and determinedly. Time is an irretrievable asset, and the future depends on actions taken today.
“TIME IS UP” is a clear imperative, an invitation to emerge from the shadows of immobility, not only a call to urgency but a cry that urges to break free from the chains of inertia, and to courageously embrace the bold decisions that are necessary to change our future.

“‘TIME IS UP’ is not just a warning about consequences which are fast approaching , but is also an explosion of positive energy that urges us to stop delaying what must be done. We can no longer afford the luxury of wasting time. Now is the time to act firmly, to face challenges with determination, and to build a better future. Our Festival has told all of this in the last decade through the stories it has courageously chosen to bring to the big screen and will continue to do so,” Maurizio Nichetti, artistic director of Visioni dal Mondo.
2024 marks the 10th anniversary of the International Documentary Festival Visioni dal Mondo and will be a rich and celebratory event, the organizers are defining the schedule: the structure, in addition to events, masterclasses, and panels, includes the Italian Contest, aimed at Italian filmmakers with two categories, feature films and new talent debut works, the International Contest, dedicated to foreign productions, the Visioni Incontra Contest, dedicated to documentary projects still in the work in progress phase or in final development advanced development, and the Visioni VR Contest, dedicated to linear virtual reality works and interactive experiences.
