ANNOUNCES THE DATES OF THE NINTH EDITION

IN MILAN FROM 14 TO 17 SEPTEMBER 2023

Milan, 14 December 2022. Francesco Bizzarri, founder and director of Visioni dal Mondo, has defined the dates for the ninth edition of the Visioni dal Mondo International Documentary Festival. The annual appointment with the cinema of reality, under the artistic direction of Maurizio Nichetti, will be held in Milan from 14 to 17 September 2023.

Launched in 2015, throughout its editions the Festival has seen the premiere presentation of over 250 Italian and international documentary films and over 100 work-in-progress documentary projects at Visioni Incontra, the Industry section dedicated exclusively to the sector, organised by Cinzia Masòtina, responsible for advisory and coordination.

The International Documentary Festival Visioni dal Mondo, in line with its mission, aims to tell the story of the world we live in and to investigate small or big changes in society, through the cinema of reality. Documentary cinema, in fact, explores cultural contexts and patterns, with a free, open gaze, and is an act of creative courage in telling true stories.

” The ninth edition of the Festival – underlines Francesco Bizzarri, founder and director of Visioni dal Mondo – will also be an open window on new productions and we will present documentary films that investigate, show, report a very often unknown daily life. Through the selected films we will explore and tell the story of today, to understand its transformation and anticipate its evolution. Universal stories and particular stories, with all possible tones, from drama to comedy. With Visioni dal Mondo, we promote and support a genre, the cinema of reality, which thanks to us has emerged from its niche and has become increasingly popular to the extent that it has landed on generalist television channels, the big screen and various platforms. Over the course of the eight editions, several documentary films presented at our Festival have been aired on the big screen or on TV and many documentary projects have had the chance to be completed thanks to Visioni Incontra.”
